Adult Formation
At Thornapple we believe that every adult should be taught the foundations of the faith. Our foundations courses are designed to help adults know the gospel in its entirety and to integrate these truths into their daily lives as God’s people for God’s glory.
Adult formation classes on Sunday mornings provide a place for people at Thornapple to grow in their faith and to experience community. All adults are invited and encouraged to attend the classes which take place during both services. You can begin at any time. Classes meet every Sunday, although there can be changes in the schedule around holidays. The final Spring 2012 class is May 20 for the 9:00 class and May 13 for the 10:30 class.
Current Sunday Topics:
Through May 20:
9:00 class: Topic: "Coming Face to Face with Jesus in a Life Changing Way." Studies in the Gospel of John for January 8-May 20. Meets in the library. Teacher: May 13 and 20 is Bob Hilgenberg.
Through May 13:
10:30am class: "When God's Spirit Moves" on the life changing power of the Holy Spirit. Participants will not only learn about the person of the Holy Spirit, but also about how to make room for the Spirit's action in your life and in your church. A Jim Cymbala series facilitated by Kirk Mortenson and Jerry Bradford.
On May 20 there will be a Ministry Fair for all adults from 10am to 12noon in the community room. Classes for adults will resume in the fall on September 9.

- Life Groups for adults are small groups that meet for study, fellowship and prayer. For information on Life Groups, click here.
- Bible Studies: Women's Bible studies and Men's studies.
- Thornapple Means Business: A bi-weekly daytime study/book club looking at the relationship between God and work. For more details, click here.
- Silent Retreats are offered 2-3 a year. For more information, click here.
- Gospel Transformation class is offered on Wednesday evenings throughout the school year. For information on the class, click here.
Covenant Affirmations: We periodically offer a class on Covenant Affirmations - the basic beliefs of the Covenant denomination.
