Summer Sunday Worship:

9:30am - worship gathering with a full band and a variety of instruments.

11:00am - worship gathering with acoustic band, piano, and organ.

What to Expect on a Sunday Morning

When you arrive, you will find that parking is directly behind the church building (the opposite side of the building from Cascade Road). As you walk towards the building you will see two entrances. The larger entrance on the north side of the building is closest to the sanctuary.

As you approach and enter the building, you will meet friendly folks who will welcome you. They can answer questions you may have or direct you to our Welcome Center just inside. The Welcome Center attendant will be able to show you where the restrooms are located, where the nursery and classes for children and students are and answer other questions you may have. There is a second information desk in the lower level.  Nursery is offered in the lower level during both worship hours.

You will find that most folks at Thornapple are dressed comfortably; wearing anything from office casual to jeans, along with some in jackets, ties, and dresses. We want you to be comfortable - to “come as you are.”

When you enter the sanctuary you will be handed a bulletin. As you look around you may notice folks chatting all around the room. You are welcome to sit anywhere you feel comfortable.

To read a description of our two services, click here.  Our services begin with worship. In both worship hours we create the time and space for us to respond to God with all that we are, both individually and corporately. We strive to tell God's story through new and classic songs; visual and creative arts; new and ancient prayers; strong Biblical and practical teaching; and times of meditation and reflection. We seek to create a worship environment that reaches into the spiritual depth of the past while embracing the new expressions of the present.

Please notice the perforated “Tear-off Tab” on your bulletin. Completing the tear-off tab helps us to get to know you and also gives you an opportunity to communicate with us, whether it is to share prayer needs, request specific information, or just make general comments.  If you would like to complete it, you should do so prior to the offering and then drop it in the offering plate later in the service or give it to the Welcome Center attendant after the service.   Our office will see that any requests are taken care of early the following week.

Thornapple Covenant Church is an active worshipping church where we enjoy gathering together. The message will always be Bible-based, and hopefully you will find it interesting, relevant, and thought-provoking.  We hope you are blessed by our fellowship, worship, and teaching as you experience God in worship with us.

Our worship lasts about one hour. At the end of the hour you are welcome to join us in the narthex or community room for a cup of coffee and conversation.   There are also educational opportunities for all ages on Sundays September through May.

Wherever you are in your faith journey, we invite you to take the next step with us at Thornapple. Here you will find a safe place of belonging, a church family that encourages and cares, opportunities to grow and a community sharing in the journey together.
