the treehouse community garden and living building
The Urban Ministry team of Thornapple Covenant Church is a friend of the Treehouse Ministry Community Garden and living building.
This ministry was started by a group of young adults with a passion for ministering in their community. Initially their plans were to create a community garden which was done over the past few summers. The garden is located at 1049 Logan St. SE. The Treehouse community garden is on Facebook. To check out their page go to this link: https://www.facebook.com/treehousegarden
If you would like to learn more about this community you can go to their website at: http://treehousegarden.wordpress.com.
LIVING BUILDING: The next project is to tear down the abandoned house next door to the garden and to rebuild it. The house will be used as a community center - a place for kids to get help with homework, a place to give classes and basically a place where the community can have a safe place to gather. There will be work days at the Living Building project the four weekends in April. Plan to come to help with deconstructing the house. We will be removing all of the insides of the house and need lots of help! If you would like to help you can sign up (half or whole days) by clicking here. Or Contact Matthew Fowler if you have questions. You can email him at: matthewpfowler
