Thornapple Means Business
For too long there has been an unfortunate separation between church and work that has resulted in a double life for many of God's people; God on Sunday, Work on Monday. Thornapple Means Business is a lunch hour meeting, hosted by Pastor Rob, for anyone who wants to explore the connection between faith and work in the marketplace. Using a book club format participants are invited into conversations with others about the meaning, motivations, and challenges of work.
Meetings are at 12 noon and end sharply at 1 p.m. Please purchase ahead of time the book "Doing God's Business: Meaning and Motivation for the Marketplace" by R. Paul Stevens, Eerdmans Publishing, 2006. Read the chapter planned for each meeting (see below).
Location: OST (Open Systems Technologies), 605 Seward NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49504.
Lunch: Bring your own bag lunch.
Meeting Dates in 2012: January 10, 24, February 7, 21, March 6, 20, April 3.
Parking: Park on the street wherever you can find a space.
