Giving

Offering
Support the ministry and mission of Thornapple through the regular practice of giving generously from the financial resources entrusted to you by God.  
Giving rebounded in June and we remain above budget year-to-date.  We are grateful for your giving generosity and praising God for His provision!  During the summer our ministry continues and we are counting on your faithful giving to God's work through Thornapple. Thank you!
Your financial gifts can be:
  1. Made online through our online giving platform 
  2. Mailed to the church office (6595 Cascade Rd. SE; Grand Rapids, MI 49546)
  3. Placed in the offering box at the Welcome Center

Events

  • Summer Sunday Worship  | May 30-Sept. 5 we have one service at 10am.  The first Sunday of each month, through September we will meet outside for worship at 10am with an online option still available. Bring your chairs and join us outside with coffee, donuts and fun for the kids following worship.
  • MOPS | Registration for Thornapple MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) is open for the 2021/22 season! We are excited to be offering Thursday morning gatherings with MOPPETS and a virtual/hybrid option in the evenings. Gatherings start September 23. Learn more and register here.
  • Movie Discussion Group | This summer we’re inviting you to watch and discuss movies about racial justice. On August 10 we'll be discussing Just Mercy - at 7pm. Participants will watch on their own time and gather over Zoom with discussion leaders to talk about each movie. Learn more and sign up to join this group HERE.   • TSM Cedar Point Trip | Thursday, Aug. 5 for all middle and high school students. Learn more and sign up HERE.
  • Young Families Bring Your Own Picnic | Join us at Cascade Park, Thursday, Aug. 19 at 6pm; pack a picnic and bring your family!
  • WholyFit | Fridays, 9:30-10:30am in the Community Center (no childcare)

Pine Rest Church Assistance Program | Complimentary counseling (and other programs – just say “I have a CAP with Thornapple Covenant Church” when you call to make an appointment) for you and your family and access to a virtual library of mental health resources (use the password “Thornapple” when prompted). Learn more here.
Stephen Ministry | Going through a crisis or having a difficult time? Maybe you could benefit from receiving care in a one-on-one partnership with a trained Stephen Minister. Contact Lynne McLaughlin
Benefit Mobile Fundraising for Children and Students | Did you know Thornapple participates in the Benefit Mobile fundraising program? It is an app you can use right on your phone and can be used at many places you already shop, like Target, Home Depot, Lowes, Amazon, etc… Funds raised can be used for retreats, trips, Portage Lake, etc… If you are interested in learning more or signing up, contact Linda Winer.

  • Sunday Morning Help Needed | We are in need of greeters, coffee makers/servers, nursery workers and Children's Worship volunteers during the summer months... sign up HERE.
  • Hands on Work Opportunities for Men and Women | LMDJ is gathering teams to serve with Habitat for Humanity, Family Promise and ICCF. Get the details HERE.
  • Fully vaccinated and love hanging out with babies/toddlers? Children’s Ministry could use your help as a Nursery volunteer on Sunday mornings. Please contact Lisa Udell if you are able to help and she we get you on the schedule!
