Offering
Support the ministry and mission of Thornapple through the regular practice of giving generously from the financial resources entrusted to you by God.  
Your financial gifts can be:
  1. Made online through our online giving platform 
  2. Mailed to the church office (6595 Cascade Rd. SE; Grand Rapids, MI 49546)
  3. Given during in-person worship on Sunday mornings

Thanks for your continuing generosity!  While we are below budget through February, we are ahead of last year’s giving by 6% for the same period.  

Events

  • Degage Ministries Housing Simulation | March 26, 6:30-8pm at Thornapple for students and adults age 13 and older. Learn more and register HERE.
  • Cascade 6K for Water | Saturday, May 20 at 9am. Thornapple Covenant, Cascade Fellowship and Keystone are co-hosting the Cascade 6K for Water walk/roll/run as part of an international World Vision effort. Each $50 participant entry fee provides clean water to someone for a LIFETIME. Our goal is to collectively raise $10,000 and give 200 people the gift of water. Join the team HERE
  • Men's Prayer and Discussion Group | Every Monday at 6:30 at Thornapple (first Mondays of the month meet at New Beginnings on 28th Street). Contact Kirk Mortenson with questions.
  • Hearts for Sewing | Noon-3pm, 4th Tuesdays of the month. Learn more about this group HERE.  The group is also in need of donations of 45-inch-wide washable fabric in lengths of 30 inches or greater suitable for dresses or shorts for children.
  • Community Center Sports 
    Pickleball | Mon./Thurs., 8-10pm (co-ed), Fridays, 7:30-9am (women)
    Volleyball and Basketball (open to anyone) | Tuesdays, 7:45-9:45pm | Volleyball (1st and 3rd/5th)/Basketball (2nd and 4th)
    WholyFit (contact Karalyn Tresh: 616-304-0592): Fridays, 9:30-10:30am

Barna Survey: Sharing Jesus | This 10-minute assessment will measure on your perspectives on spiritually open and non-Christian people, your feelings about faith and how you are embracing evangelism practices in your everyday life as a Christian. Take the Survey

Glenn Van Noord (GVN) Short-Term Urban Missions Program 2023 | College students AND HS juniors and seniors can now apply for GVN which gives students the opportunity to work in urban Grand Rapids this coming summer. Applications will be accepted until the program is full. Learn more HERE.

Pine Rest Church Assistance Program  
Complimentary counseling (and other programs – just say “I have a CAP with Thornapple Covenant Church” when you call to make an appointment) for you and your family and access to a virtual library of mental health resources (use the password “Thornapple” when prompted). Learn more HERE.

Stephen Ministry
Going through a crisis or having a difficult time? Maybe you could benefit from receiving care in a one-on-one partnership with a trained Stephen Minister. Contact Lynne McLaughlin

Making a Difference

  • International Missions Team is looking for a couple of new members. If you have an interest in the work of the Gospel around the world and in helping facilitate Thornapple’s connection with our mission partners, please talk to one of our team members (Dave Lieuwen, Patti Raisch, Mark Hunt, Chuck Hahn, Walt Wolf). 

  • Hearts for Sewing Fabric | Donations of 45"-wide washable fabric in lengths of 30 inches or greater suitable for dresses or shorts for children for Hearts for Sewing - fabric can be brought to the Welcome Center or church office.

  • Tech Booth Team | Sunday morning tech booth volunteers needed for on-screen slides, monitoring livestream sound and more (we'd love to add to our sound board volunteers but this requires more extensive training which we can provided to anyone interested in learning) - adults and teens welcome; training provided. Email Kimberly Korpak.

  • Love hanging out with babies/toddlers? Children’s Ministry could use your help as a Nursery volunteer on Sunday mornings. Please contact Lisa Udell if you are able to help and she we get you on the schedule!
